Spray painted wicker laundry baskets

Spray painted wicker laundry baskets

Another project finished and ready to share. We wanted to refresh our bathroom and after having it painted  in gray,  I decided that the two laundry wicker baskets there,  also deserve some uplifting. Before painting anything you have to remember to clean it thoroughly. The baskets were a bit dusty so I dusted them with…

IKEA coffee table hack – reclaimed pallet wood cover

IKEA coffee table hack – reclaimed pallet wood cover

When you rent a apartment and you sometimes don’t want to rely on the furniture that is there. You can’t give the furniture back as it came with the flat and the landlord would not agree to that but you want it to look different, be more in your style. Over years of living in rented accommodation I figured out many ways of adding my personal touch to the rented furniture – obviously without making permanent changes to the furniture pieces.

One of them below – an IKEA coffee table cover. What you need to make it is a saw, hammer, some nails sand paper and wood wax. The wood is from reclaimed pallets. It is reply important to dry the pallets before using them. Otherwise if they are still damp the planks might become skewed and the table surface not even.

Coffee table made of reclaimed palet wood

Coffee table made of reclaimed palet wood

Another item completed over this summer. I was working very hard to make  my outdoor area colorful and cozy 🙂

We have a big table and chair but I had no small table that could be  used when sitting on the bench. I found three small pallets and made this table out of them. I had to cut “legs” from – the bars at the bottom. I then used these bars I between two pallets – bottom one is upside down, then the bars from cut from the second pallet and the third one on the top. All elements connected together with the screws. Before connecting them I painted each of the parts with outdoor green paint and finished with the outdoor varnish. Finally I attached the wheels.

This palet table is super handy as can be moved around easily.

And this is the leg part cut off from one of the palets that I used in between two other palets to extend the height of the table.

Another renovated armchair – magic colors and quality fabrics.

Another renovated armchair – magic colors and quality fabrics.

I have finished this piece a while ago, but got quite busy over the summer months and  never published the any  photos. So here you go.

This time I had a bit more work as instead of stapling everything, I decided to sew some elements of upholstered chair cover.

Everything that you see on the surface is sewn,. I stapled only the back ad underneath of the chair.

The chair looks amazing with the matching cushions sewn with the same fabrics as parts of the chair.

The fabrics have vibrant colors and are amazingly soft.

Made with attention to detail,.

And passion. I wanted to sell it, but it loks so amazing in me living room, that it is going to stay here 🙂

*SOLD* Upcycled white vintage dresser €200

I found this lovely item on adverts and immediately had this idea of repainting it white. I decided not to get rid of the mirror part as I simply liked it better without the mirror.

And this is how the dresser looked like before.

Very productive weekend of renovating furniture and upholstering armchairs

Very productive weekend of renovating furniture and upholstering armchairs

It was a rainy weekend. The weather and greyness made me feel quite lazy,  but it did not stop me from finishing a few projects.  It was nice and fulfilling to stay at home and bring a few things back to live.

Re-upholstered armchair.

Lovely mustard-yellow fabric and chalky finish waxed wooden frame in graphite.

I have started the chair on Thursday afternoon from painting the frame, and I have completed renovating finished it over the weekend.

Renovated retro dresser.

Chalky grey and graphite finish with a silver coating at the countertop. All waxed and polished.

Renovated dresser / sideboard. that was in my hallway.

It was in my hallway and looked quite boring and dark. I decided to brighten it up a little bit – bright grey chalky finish with metallic elements.

Rejuvenated Old Table with Bird Stencils

Rejuvenated Old Table with Bird Stencils

I found this old foldable table on a bric-a-bra sale and decided to rejuvenate it. Her is what I ended up with 🙂 I used 150 sandpaper on a palm sander. It it could be done by hand with some elbow grease. Lightly sand the entire table and legs. You do not need to remove…
